President and co-founder of GCI with operations in Costa Rica, Panamá, and Perú. Mr. Salas has more than 30 years of experience as consultant in design and supervision of important building and infrastructure projects.
He has been professor in the Civil Engineering School at Universidad de Costa Rica for 28 years. Besides, he was dean of the structural department from 2011 to 2015

Carlos holds a Master degree in Project Management and a Civil Engineering degree, with 20 years of professional experience. He has worked in planning, organization, execution and control of the design, quality inspection, project management and construction of projects in Costa Rica, Panamá, Perú and other countries in the region. Projects include infrastructure works, vertical construction, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, residential, tourism, and heritage works, in the public and private sector.
Projects managed include the interdisciplinary coordination from the conceptual stage, master plan, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimations, scheduling, construction permitting, peer review, and value engineering. Besides, his experience includes coordination amongst clients, designers, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
He is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has more than 15 years of experience as professor in the Master Degree Program of the Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional and the Global School of Project Management.
Carlos is a well-recognized seminars speaker and article author in topics related to Architecture, Engineering and Construction Projects.
